Provision of wide range of transformer consulting services, including forensic analysis and investigation of transformer failures, review of designs, etc.

Transformer Specialist, Siemens Canada
Responsible for design of new and repair of failed transformers. The range of transformer ratings was 3 MVA to 750 MVA
- Designed a hot oil spray vacuum tank. The new tank allowed the plant to bid on and handle larger transformers. The new tank reduced costs and reduced cycle times from 14 days to 5 days.
- Designed and installed a new 10 MVA Rectifying transformer unit as an exact duplicate of an old existing unit, saving costs associated with redesigning existing substation setup for Alcan Smelters in Kitimat B.C.
- Designed and led service technicians in the replacement of underload tapchanger gear on a 50 MVA transformer. Saved approximately $150K in shipping cost. Lasco Steel, Whitby, Ontario.
- Led and directed the repair of two essential 192 MVA/262 MVA transformers that suffered shipping damage. Met customer’s time restraints. First Energy Corp., Pittsburgh.

- Responsible in assisting 23 field and service plant operations with transformer engineering
- Interpreted transformer gas-in-oil results samples and generated reports for customers on the condition of the customer’s transformer. Reports would indicate possible corrective action required. Approximately 2000 samples per year.
- Identified and sourced all transformer replacement parts, including sourcing best prices, quality and delivery time.
- Interfaced with customers, defined needs and scope of work required, prepared material and labour quotes.

Field Service Installer, (1992 - 2000) Responsible for installation of transformers for Westinghouse (TTI) in North America.
- Led and organized 8 field service representatives in the repair of two, 400 MVA transformers at customer’s location. Saving approximately $300K shipping cost. Each project was accomplished in a 29 days. Sheerness Generating Station, AB
